Tubular Transmission
Lucas Fenton
$100.00
Selected for catalog
Artist statement: This image was taken on the go and very spontaneously. The location is a tube station near where I was living while studying abroad in London. The depth of the tunnel really caught my eye. Underground tubes are such an essential part of London and are unique for their length. The semi-circle that centers the people in the tunnel drew me in and inspired me to take this particular shot. The tunnel creates an infinity-like effect, making it seem to go on forever.

Carol Flagg
$400.00
Artist statement: The creation of a painting is a form of meditation for me. I lose the sense of time as I paint. I love the process of creating form and color that is appealing to me. I am a very organized individual and get uncomfortable with chaos. I find my paintings reflect this attitude even when I try to avoid it. I enjoy the fluidity, transparency, and color purity of watercolor and hope to allow the medium to help me along to become more spontaneous in my painting and in the world.

Enders Falls Reflections
Sarah Foley
Artist statement: This photo was taken while hiking with a dear friend at Enders State Forest in Granby, Connecticut. It was early spring and the sky had a few clouds drifting overhead. The reflected light in the water created colours and patterns that were compelling.

A Fish Tale
Bonnie Frederico
Selected for catalog BVAA Member
Artist statement: For me this painting has a double meaning, the tail of the fish and the story that goes along with it. It was a challenge to get the textures correct, fabric, fish and water, but most of all to capture a likeness and feeling of my Grandson.
Specific medium: colored pencil
Black Canvas: First Sighting
Annelise Freund
$300.00
BVAA Member
Artist statement: This is the second installment out of six for my short story 'Black Canvas.' This particular scene shows the main character, Shay, having her first encounter with the Hester's family ghost.
Specific medium: Color pencil
The Fear of Death
Annelise Freund
$1,000.00
BVAA Member
Artist statement: All humans, animals and eventually the entirety of the very universe will die. But what happens after death? This piece focuses on the underlying fear that no religion is true, and that when one dies they cease to exist. The thought of no longer existing or having any thoughts and just ceasing to be is something so abstract, that the human mind cannot comprehend it.
Specific medium: Graphite, pastel powder
