Artist statement: My inspiration is New versus Old and the temporary nature of views. I always find it interesting to see how new buildings and old ones come together - sometimes easily, sometimes not. With the Library in its current stage, I think it's fascinating to capture the views through the unfinished new building onto the old - this is a temporary vantage that will be gone in just a few weeks.

Artist statement: The photograph of the demolition was SO invasive that it caught my eye - a thoroughly modern piece of equipment reaching in and pulling out the interior of this lovely old building, it was sort of shocking and again, very temporary. That portion of the building is gone, only memorialized in photographs.

Artist statement: Looking past the obvious, close observation and engagement of the subject are a large part of my painting process. One of my goals is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in nature, to be drawn toward pictures which find meaning and poetry in the everyday. This with a love of drawing and a keen desire to explore the effects of light has formed my passion for painting.

Artist statement: Colors around me, astound me. The color and chaos of life continues to call to me to paint. My drive to be immersed in color knows no bounds. I've thrown off the bondage and baggage of words. My paintings are without dogma, formal statement or descriptions. I reject stylistic dictations or definitions. I paint the paintings that need to be painted; so says the Muse.

Artist statement: When my lens captured the sun's reflection on the water, I immediately became intrigued by the color, line and shape patterns. Presenting the environment in this abstract yet beautiful and interesting way became reflective of the constant shift and changes in the emotions I have felt during this pandemic.

Artist statement: I was walking through an old barn and saw the light coming through a tattered and broken window. My eye was drawn to a twisted vine making its way inside. I loved the lines and textures of the curled vine against the jagged edges of the shade.

Artist statement: I have always appreciated the opportunity to experience a piece of history first-hand. In September 2019, I was able to walk through this Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress at the Worcester Airport catching a glimpse of the nosegunner position. Less than two weeks after this photo was taken, the aircraft crashed and was destroyed.

Artist statement: This photograph was taken when COVID-19 was spreading rapidly across the country. It was captured a month after the virus peaked in NYC, but the numbers were still extremely high. I wanted to document how such a usually vibrant and lively city looked during the incredibly sorrowful and unprecedented times. Although this photo is of only one person, the emotion displayed was felt by millions of people across the country and the world will forever shape our future. We are still grieving.
