The Letter

Artist statement: This painting is about a child writing to his grandpa about his life before an upcoming Christmas visit. I have taken this pastime of letter writing and brought it into this century with the shortcuts of emojis. Hopefully it will make people smile think about the different ways of communicating and maintaining important relationships.
Specific medium: oil on wood
Leaf After Storm
Kelly Morris
Artist statement: Found the leaf in the parking lot outside my apartment and I thought it looked pretty so I put my phone on the ground and took the picture. I never imagined it to come out as good as it did and to be completely honest, it is probably the greatest picture I have ever taken!
Specific medium: Photograph
Winter Ice
Linda Morrison
Selected for catalog
Artist statement: One early winter morning after an ice storm I was wandering through the woods. The branches of this small bush, covered in ice, against the bright white snow struck me. The lines of the branches struck me and reminded me of a contemporary art piece.
Specific medium: photograph
Nubble Lighthouse
Linda Morrison
Artist statement: The Nubble Lighthouse is an iconic image of a New England lighthouse. The original image was stark and sharp but through subtle editing I feel this image projects some romance and is truly idyllic. I can easily imagine that I am standing on the rocks looking at the lighthouse as it was in 1879 when it was first built. If you look very closely at the rocks you will even see a stray green and white lobster buoy carried in and left by the waves.
Specific medium: Photograph
In the Abyss, Beneath the Waves
Junco Norton
$900.00
Artist statement: Using existing painting techniques, ancient or modern, artistic or structural, I define a visual destination. I experiment with styles, materials, and painting techniques, trying to meld them with my own technique to achieve originality. My gestural marks are influenced by shodo (Japanese calligraphy); in hand-painting rice paper for collage, I use Russian point-to-point technique and sashiko (Japanese embroidery) motifs.
Specific medium: Collage with hand-painted rice paper
